In collaboration with Expedition Air, the brand of products made from carbon dioxide emissions, we formulated the world's first Nano paint made with nanoparticles containing solidified atmospheric carbon dioxide captured from the air.

These works painted in inverted (negative) colors were created with high temperature colors and the CO2 black. They talk about the influence that carbon dioxide has on the temperature of a planet, making a relationship with the thermal contrasts in the color temperature. It is something to have the feeling of painting directly with air temperature, with carbon dioxide captured from the atmosphere.

Lumenoscope, a VR digital technology that converts negative to positive colors, transforms these apocalyptic worlds of extreme climates into worlds of ice with the peaceful and majestic white of glaciers. It is a way of dreaming about the capture of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, and its recycling technology, as a powerful solution for imagine a low-carbon future, reducing global warming and the melting of glaciers.

The melting of the glaciers is one of the most shocking signs of climate change. Human activity worldwide causes an alteration in the natural carbon cycle, the main cause of global warming. Carbon sustains life on Earth, and it is paradoxical that it also could cause extinction.

+ Project context

In collaboration with Expedition Air, the brand of products made with carbon emissions by Carbon Upcycling Technologies (X-Factor winner of the NGR COSIA Carbon XPRIZE), we are creating this carbon negative art project with a positive environmental impact. We truly believe that we need to view carbon dioxide as a resource with which we can create incredible products.

We envision a world where a circular carbon economy is implemented globally. This is accomplished by capturing the atmospheric CO2 produced through human activity, then recycling it and incorporating it into materials that make up buildings, walls, floors, ceilings, spaces, objects and products of mass consumption in daily life. Thanks to the positive use of emerging technologies in the Carbontech ecosystem, millions of tones of CO2 emissions will be captured from the atmosphere each year.

XPRIZE created two of the most important projects in history designed to rebalance Earth's carbon cicle. The first one, CARBON XPRIZE, is a global competition to reimagine carbon, thus developing new technologies to convert carbon dioxide into valuable and usable products. The second one is the CARBON REMOVAL XPRIZE, supported by Elon Musk. It invites participants to create and demonstrate solutions that can pull carbon dioxide directly from the atmosphere or oceans ultimately scaling up to gigaton levels, permanently locking away CO2 in an environmentally benign way.
